Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m originally from Egypt, but I currently live in Berlin, accompanied by my loving wife (marriage story) and our feline companion 🐈.
My Journey to Berlin
I’d always wanted to live in an international community, speak a couple of different languages, and have more exposure to a bigger market. In 2016, I took the leap, moving to 🇩🇪 to immerse myself in its blend of history, culture, and IT scene. Like any journey, mine has had its highs and lows, moments of clarity, and lessons learned the hard way.
Software and Beyond
With a background in 🐍, I like to write good, maintainable, testable code that adds value. Some might find it odd, but I genuinely enjoy the challenge of transforming legacy code into something efficient and elegant 🤓. My professional journey has taken me through various sectors, including telecommunications, delivery, ad-tech, and data services (Linkedin).
Why This Blog?
This space serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it’s a platform to share my personal stories 📚 , insights, and experiences as an expat in Berlin. Secondly, it’s a resource for those keen on diving into the world of software. I intend on writing on the software industry, CS concepts, and programming (I mainly use Python as a programming language). Whether you’re a software engineer looking to nerd out about a topic, an expat seeking camaraderie, or someone curious about life in Berlin, I hope you’ll read something interesting here 🙂
